Regular Perm is ideal for men and women who want more volume and tighter curls since the rods can be rolled up to the roots to create maximum lift/volume. It's more appropriate and popular for those with very short hair hence why it's sometimes called Men's Perm. The solution used is stronger than what we normally use so its usually done on healthy hair. 

This perm technique prevents Asian stubborn/stiff/puffy hair from the sides that stick outwards to relax the hair to hold it down for weeks! We essentially restructure the keratin protein bonds in your hair to form your new desired hair structure. 

Root Perm, otherwise known as Ringer Volume Perm, targets the roots or the upper portion of the hair to add volume, lift, and texture to the hair, giving it a much more voluminous and styled appearance, but requires much less maintenance than traditional perms.
